Asian Jumping Worms: A Threat to Oregon Landscapes
Have you heard about the Crazy Snake Worm here in Oregon? Also known as the Asian Jumping Worm (Amynthas spp.), it was first found in Oregon in 2016. This earthworm has been problematic on the east coast and Midwest, and could have negative impacts here in the Pacific Northwest. Join OSU researchers, Dr. Sam Chan (OSU Sea Grant Extension) and Linda Tucker Serniak (OSU Environmental Sciences PhD student) for a presentation on the current status of the worms in Oregon and the US, how to identify them, and how gardeners can prevent the spread of this aggressive invader.
